I've known John Pratt for more than 30 years, and I've known his brothers Dave and Joe almost as long.  In all those years, they've never said a thing about their Italian roots.   But I've wondered.  After all, Dave is an Alfa Romeo nut and Alfa is an ITALIAN car.  And John not only has an Alfa Romeo, he has a vegetable garden - all the old Italians I knew when I was growing up had gardens.  And Joe loves Pizza.  So when I discovered that the town of Prato was only a few miles from Florence, it all began to make sense.  I decided to go there and see for myself.
