The Fountain
The Jet d'Eau as seen through a park and marina.
The Jet d'Eau has been been through several versions and has been a part of the Geneva landscape for years.
The business end of the Jet d'Eau.
The current fountain uses a 1360HP pump to shoot water at more than 100MPH more than 400 feet into the air where it is blown by the wind into an ever-changing rooster tail.
Wind blows the water into interesting shapes.
We walked out on the pier that leads to the fountain, and got soaked when the wind changed direction. It was a hot day, and it felt great!
Rita approaches the fountain.
