Lower Lake Area
Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) is drained by the Rhone.
Lake Geneva is a central feature of the city, and a lot of the action centers around it. At the Pont du Mont-Blanc (the bridge in the background of the picture above) the lake ends and the Rhone river begins. The river can be very swift flowing when the hydroelectric dam a few hundred yards downstream permits.
A lakefront park
This park on the southeast shore of Lake Geneva is in an area where there are lots of sidewalk restaurants. There is a stop for the local sightseeing "train" running on rubber tires among the downtown tourist sites. There are piers where the sightseeing boats tie up. and there are lots of people.
An advertising Blimp cruises over Lake Geneva.
This blimp was taking advantage of the weekend crowds to reach lots of people with their advertising.
