Badwater
Badwater is the lowest point in the western hemisphere. Death Valley is sinking as the mountain ranges on both sides move relative to one another, but is also filling with gravel washed down from those mountains. I understand it is sinking faster than it is filling.
The sign at the tourist overlook is about 3 miles from the actual low point.
