A view of the Warsaw skyline from the Palace of Culture & Science.
Edward & Dana drove us to the Warsaw home of Barbara who kindly
hosted our Warsaw visit. Her family and the Stosur family have been friends since
Edward and Barbara were children. Each day at Barbara's started with an elaborate breakfast
and conversation at a table in her beautiful garden, then a trip to see the sights of
Barbara - our hostess in Warsaw.
On Thursday, we watched the annual Corpus Christi procession, visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, strolled through Old Warsaw - the area inside the city walls - and visited several historical churches including the church containing Chopin's heart. On Friday, we visited Wilanow Palace and its grounds, and Warsaw Lazienki Park. On Saturday we toured the Museum of the Warsaw Uprising, and visited the observation deck of the Palace of Culture & Science, then stopped by a giant grocery store.
